Well I can’t tell if it’s rain Or all my tears of pain It’s all a mystery, and you know that I can’t hide Was it me that let you go? or something that I don’t know? It’s all a mystery, and you know that I can’t hide I’m combing through our days and nights, just lookin’ for a lead on where’d you go, what went wrong, girl, what made you leave? I’m fallin’ through the holes I made I’m muckin’ up the gold I was on track, but the trail’s gone cold Will we still be more than friends? Will I ever see you again? It’s all a mystery, and you know that I can’t hide It aint in my place to solve this case, I’ve never been the type To grab a pipe, and fade into the night... Was it me who played the clown? Will I ever figure it out? It’s all a mystery, and you know that I can’t hide Will I find out who’s to blame? Will I slowly go insane? It’s all a mystery, and you know that I can’t hide... It’s all a mystery... And girl, you’re the reason why...

Why 03:17
Got up early this morning and I went to my job And I really had to ask myself why Came home late in the evening tired as a dog And I really had to ask myself why I just really had to ask myself why I really had to ask myself why ‘Cause it’s sooner or it’s later when we’re off of this ride And I really had to ask myself why Burned all of my free time scrolling through my phone And I really had to ask myself why Looked at 100,000 pictures just to feel less alone And I really had to ask myself why Well, there’s bills and there’s meetings and a strong sense of dread and a fear that some empty big head will make us all wind up dead Still, there’s freedom, friends, and family, and a will to survive... I went down to the river, but I didn’t drown Figured might as well see what happens if I stick around I just really had to ask myself why I really had to ask myself why ‘Cause it’s sooner or it’s later when we’re off of this ride And I really had to ask myself why I just really had to ask myself why I just really had to ask myself why…

Stop playin’ around With my heart and my mind You’re lookin’ for attention That’s not something you’ll find You’re someone else’s baby You’re someone else’s squeeze Stop playing around I shouldn’t have to say please Stop talkin’ ‘bout “on the side” That wouldn’t make you all mine I couldn’t have you for days and nights We couldn’t spend all our time You couldn’t be my girl I couldn’t be your guy Stop playin’ around I shouldn’t have to say why I shouldn’t have to crawl on bended knee Asking you to forget Beggin’ you to leave For days and weeks on end You strung me along Tellin’ me how you’re leaving him How your life is all wrong Don’t you have someone else? Don’t you have a life? Stop playin around Stop making me cry Cuz when I get home, I’ll be all alone Flip on the tube, give my dog a bone Go through my fridge, and turn off the light Thinkin’ about you And where you could be tonight...

West Coast 04:10
Hidin’ out in the west coast You found the people who would care most Tied your picture with a rubber band... Had a model life, then transposed Read your story and took notes They think it’s easy, they don’t understand... What’s the reason for you traveling so far? You’re always by yourself, my dear, No matter where you are And, oh, forgiveness, you know it comes so hard But still you’re hiding out by the railways Shooting scars... Then one day you’d stop to need such help Realized only you can love yourself Even stars explode into a cloud... “You got to build yourself a new life” Said the stranger with the blue eyes Then he disappeared into the crowd… Well… It’s not that far, It’s not that far...

Old Rochelle 04:06
Oh Rochelle, Ol' Rochelle, I am under your spell I should have known—since you're from there— That you'd put me through hell All the secrets and the lies That I never can tell Still, you know that I love you, Rochelle You've been by my side all along now, dear But to light your sight is what I would fear I've spent cold, lonely, days And dark, secret, nights But I know, in the end, it'll be all right... If the truth came out, I have no doubt That most of these folks won't be hangin' 'round But that's the way you were born It's been there for so long In your dress, I confess, is where you belong... Oh, Rochelle...

Well, it seems my time it's been Flyin' through the ages Turnin' all the pages of my old life's story Nights are getting colder Children gettin' older I ain't smarter, but I'm bolder I still don't know what's good for me I've been a fool, I've been a savior I've shown people the light, and I've led them to danger, but Nothing's been so right as making a new life With my wife and child by my side Well, it seems this life it's been not much to speak of I'm writing words and beats for some ol' forgotten melody That's when I feel the realest But songs, cyphers, and big hits They all fade in the distance when I dream about you and me I've been a fool, I've been a savior I've shown people the light, and I've led them to danger, but Nothing's been so right as making a new life With my wife and child by my side I've been a fool, I've been a savior I've shown people the light, and I've led them to danger, but Nothing's been so right as making a new life With my wife and child by my side Nothing's been so right as making a new life With my wife and child by my side

She Photoshopped my face into a picture that she’s seen, It was so true-to-life, but I was never in that scene And now I face the judge who’ll say he’ll throw away the key Her photo manipulation skills have destroyed all my dreams We were together for a time, it was butterflies and roses She accumulated pictures of my face in many poses She slapped my head on someone else, the skin tones they did match And now I’m stuck up in a cell with a lonely iron latch I encouraged her to take some night classes for her health At the local community college, put a diploma on her shelf But she used them skills of hers to make it seem like I was there Standin’ over her dead lover with a knife, a smile, and no care! So I’m facing 20 years with not one chance of parole I guess I’ll write some letters, try to clear things with my folks And maybe my attorney will someday do his job When he finally leaves my baby—that two-timin’ dirty slob! I encouraged her to take some night classes for her heath At the local city college, add a skill under her belt But she used them skills of hers to make it seem like I was there Standin’ over her dead lover with a knife, a smile, and no care! She Photoshopped my face into a picture that she’s seen, It was so true-to-life, but I was never in that scene The shady ways of that dame made the shell of man I am It’s plain to see that ‘PSD’ for me stands for “Pretty Sly Diane”!

The Bullet 04:10
Come with me babe, I'm gonna take that train It'll put me out quick like a bullet to my brain And it don't matter, I’m gonna take my soul away Gettin' higher than a drunk out on 16th street, Ain't nobody baby gonna discuss me And it don't matter, I’m gonna take my soul away Well, you know life is tough Sometimes, I’ve had enough And then start cryin' I’m lonely tonight Say it'll be all right Hold me babe, cuz it feels like I'm really dyin' When you're far from home, It's such a long way down that you fall, and your heart's so weak from pinin'... Standing tall, Then you fall back down All you want is for her to come home To make it right again When you packed and left, Well, my heart collapsed to the ground, and ev’ry hour that passed, It felt like days If we start anew Darling, I’ll be true Oh my love, I’ll quit all of My wild and rowdy ways...

Huggin’ all them curves, eastbound 110 Off to that damned place where I’d just been She takes me off to places I’ve never been Flowin’ through my heart and through my skin When Molly Sings... When Molly Sings... When Molly Sings... I forget those things One more shot of caffeine to help me pretend I care Yeah, we’re “moving forward”, I’m goin’ backwards and nowhere Tryin’ to save what’s left of my hair Thinkin’ of home and yearning to be there But when Molly sings... How does time fly there, when it moves here so slow? Am I valued or one foot out? I don't know Missin’ what he’s sayin’, and missin’ him grow... But I can drift off to her songs on my radio When Molly sings... Like twigs of the treetops swayin’ in the wind She barely moves, but her sound is deafening When I get lost, she guides me home again Drowning in her ocean, and in her sand When Molly Sings...

Please don’t wreck up my world, love It took me so long to climb And please don’t wreck up our world, love A true life can be yours and mine Our love has survived the low and high tides That’s so hard to find... And the love that I grew has not faded for you Despite all the fights So please don’t wreck up our world, love A true life can be yours and mine Please don’t mess up my world, love Let’s bring our faults to the light And please don’t mess up our world, love To save it would be worth the fight We easily confuse when it’s who’s-blaming-who A past slowly lies... But if you look in my eyes, you’ll see time’s turned the tide and we can start anew So please don’t mess up our world, love I can’t stand to see our love die You’re sweet indeed, but I’m feeling the eve of a tear in my eye And noone can break these ties that we’ve made except you and I So please don’t wreck up our world, love A true life can be yours and mine A true life can be yours and mine A true life can be yours and mine

Just what was goin’ through my head I’ll never understand I cut my hair, I got a job, I tried to be a man But to leave me sad & lonely was the plan that you put through That was the last damn time I cry over someone like you! I saw dedication in your eyes, I thought you were so cute I was certain that you fell for me, I’m far from astute Like the night I gave you flowers, and you gave me the boot That was the last damn time I cry over someone like you! Well, I know I wasn’t seein’ one thing clearly Your bitterness, I took for playing cool And although I held all that you did dearly, All along I was your lovesick fool... I don’t know what got me thinkin’ that you’d be somethin’ good My heart was tryin’ to warn me, I never understood Your soul is cold, oh, this I know as sure as I am blue That was the last damn time I cry over someone like you! I thought we’d stick together, but we just never clicked My days were filled with passion, that fizzled out real quick! I’d like to call you evil, but that insults hell too That was the last damn time I cry over someone like you!
